Nā Pali Coast Adventure Elopement

We’ve been dying to have a couple take us on an adventure elopement pretty much since we started our business about three years ago. Carolyn + Lindsey just so happened to be our first adventure elopement, and not only that, they wanted us to capture their big day in Kauai— the garden isle! Serenity and killer views were important to them, so we ended up choosing a few lesser-known locations along the Nā Pali Coast. Luckily, hiking in was no issue for them, because the ridge line we decided on was no joke, making nearly 2000 ft in elevation gain through thick, scrubby, and maze-like trails. A grassy knoll at the end of the trail made a perfect altar for their elopement, with the massive Nā Pali cliffs as a stunning backdrop! This magical occasion could not have been more picturesque and perfect! We thank you Carolyn + Lindsey for trusting us to adventure with you, and to capture such a beautiful moment!

Secret Island Summer Wedding

DSC01057.jpg

Secret Island has been on our bucket list wedding venues for the island, and while we have shot numerous times at Kualoa Ranch, Mariel + Mike’s wedding would be our first time taking the boat to the private island. From the start, clouds were hanging suspiciously low on the windward side, threatening some summer-time moisture. However, for pretty much the entire evening, the rain stayed offshore, with only a passing light shower. The soft, filtered light from the clouds made for unreal photographic conditions, with even the slightest sunset colors coming through! Their ceremony on the private beach, followed by a reception by the ancient Hawaiian fishpond, made for an amazing first experience with Secret Island!

Summer Wedding in Vermont

Being from the Northeast, I was ecstatic when we got the opportunity to change up a bit of tropical scenery for a quaint New England summer-time wedding in Vermont! Áki + Tori chose their beautiful ceremony and reception at the Inn at Quail Run, nestled in the Green Mountains. The day started out with the final DIY decorations coming together under an endlessly blue sky. The addition of some Icelandic traditions made the entire day completely unique from all the weddings we have experienced. The reception also featured dancing by the pool, cake cutting under the stars, and a bonfire with s’mores to top off the entire evening!
